About

My name is Michelle Fumi Chan and I am a recent graduate of the MLIS program at the University of British Columbia. As you might have guessed from the title of my blog, I am a professional librarian with an unshakeable love for the arts.

This blog was originally created in 2009 as a class assignment for LIBR 500: Foundations of Information Technology at UBC‘s School of Library and Archival Studies. Back then, my primary intention was to provide an overview of how some art libraries are making the most of social media tools to promote their collections. Here we are two years later, and with an even wider range of inspiring digital projects to spotlight, I am excited to continue on in the same spirit. This time around, I will also be flexing my curatorial muscle by showcasing some of my favourite artists, books, films and, of course, libraries.
